Michael Morgan, AFSM, MBA (HRM), AIFireE – Chief Officer and Chief Executive Officer, South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS)
Michael joined the MFS in February 1986 and progressed through the ranks to his current role as Chief Officer.
In February 2005 Michael was appointed to the position of Employee Support Coordinator and was responsible for the exposure to trauma for all MFS staff. In July 2006, following a promotion he was responsible for the management of all the MFS Employee Assistance Programs.
In 2010, Michael obtained his Masters in Business Administration. Michael is a White Ribbon Ambassador and was Executive sponsor for the MFS White Ribbon Accreditation program.
In 2014, Michael was awarded the Australian Fire Service Medal for his work in these areas.
In September 2015, Michael was appointed to Deputy Chief Officer and was then appointed to the role of Chief Officer and Chief Executive Officer for a period of twelve months in 2018. Michael was formally appointed as Chief Officer and Chief Executive Officer of the MFS as of 1 July 2019.
