Melissa S. Walker is the Healing Arts Program Coordinator at the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE), Walter Reed, Bethesda, MD, US, and Lead Art Therapist for NEA Creative Forces. Dedicated to treating military service members with traumatic brain injury and associated psychological health conditions, Melissa has helped develop the Healing Arts Program at the NICoE since 2010. There, she and her team facilitate and research art, music, and dance/movement therapy. The program was highlighted in a 2015 edition of National Geographic and in Melissa’s 2016 TED talk. Melissa received her Master’s Degree in Art Therapy from New York University.
